Supporting and regenerating the economically disadvantaged rural and agricultural area surrounding Y Bala
Initially conceived as an interpretation centre for the craft of sheepdog trials, the centre developed into a multifunctional rural crafts enterprise.
As lead consultants, Dobson Owen were also heavily involved in providing supplementary guidance and advice on the incorporation of a number of arts based crafts integrated within the overall design.
The outcome
The project maintains the practice’s emphasis on sustainability, incorporating renewable energy elements within the design, such as a ground source heat pump and rainwater harvesting.
