Replacing an original period dwelling on the site which was structurally defective
On another prominent site overlooking Abersoch harbour, we designed a larger, luxurious new home with large areas of glazing on the frontage facing the sea, as well as a curved balcony.
Several design options were developed and explored to overcome the planning authority’s reservations over the scale and character of the replacement dwelling on such a visible and elevated location.
The site of an old motte and bailey hillfort, an archaeological survey also had to be carried out, as well as significant piling to stabilise the ground and an unusual foundation design developed.
