One of the first high profile newbuild dwellings designed and built by the practice
Buried into the ground at the back with a crescent shaped floor plan, the vaulted green roof helps to blend and disguise this deceptively large house into the background. Two large strips of glazing provide uninterrupted views of the sea below and strong horizontal lines that help to visually anchor the building in the landscape.
Technically challenging to execute and difficult to build on this narrow plot at the water’s edge, the whole site had to be piled before the foundations could be laid.
